Requirements needed from students

Before applying to any tvet colleges in South Africa to study or obtain a skill trade, there are some requirements that must be met.

  • You should have a grade 9 certificate.
  • Applicants who are under the age of sixteen will not be considered
  • Note that, more advanced courses may need higher certificates: Courses like engineering and higher grade studies require a higher level of education.
  • As part of the application process, most TVET colleges ask you to take an admission exam. This allows the college to assess the numeracy and literacy abilities of each student.

An original academic record or certified copies of other certifications received before must also be submitted if you attended any other higher education institution.
