Flavius Mareka TVET College admission requirements 2023-2024

Sasolburg Technical College, Kroonstad Technical College and Mphohadi College of Education merged in 2000 to form Flavius Mareka TVET College. The College was named after a prominent figure in educational, cultural and political circles i.e. Mr Flavius Mareka. He lived in Kroonstad and passed away in 1965.

Flavius Mareka TVET College has three campuses.  The Sasolburg campus has two sites specializing in Engineering Studies and Business Studies courses respectively.  The other two campuses- Kroonstad campus and Mphohadi campus- are located in the Kroonstad area.

Apart from offering full-time and part-time formal programmes at its three campuses, Flavius Mareka TVET College is also proud of the fact that it takes education and training to communities.  A number of leadership and skills programmes are offered throughout the Free State province in smaller towns, such as Heilbron; Parys, Koppies and Villiers.

Learnships and Skill Programmes Admission Requirement

  • Students must be computer literate.

UPP Bridging Programmes

If you are not successful in gaining admission to the university, but have an AP of 20 points and adhere to the Minimum Admission Requirements, you may follow a University Preparation Programme (UPP) to obtain access. The programme provides prospective students an opportunity to enjoy studies at higher education institutions after the successful completion of a bridging year.

  • A National Senior Certificate (NSC) and an AP of 20-24
  • Four subjects on level 3 (40%-49%)
  • Language of instruction on Level 3 (40%) (English or Afrikaans
