How to reset your mynsfas forgotten password
If you want to reset your myNSFAS portal password, here is what you should do.
- Go to www.nsfas.org.za
- Click myNSFAS account
- Click ‘forgot password’
- Type in your ID number
- Choose i can’t remember my password
- Choose the relevant option
- Click ‘submit’
- A One Time Pin (OTP) will be sent to you via SMS and email to the cellphone number and email you provided
- Check your cellphone or email for the OTP. This OTP is only valid for 24 hours
- Type the OTP number in the provided block
- Click ‘submit’
- A link to reset your login details will be sent to you via email and SMS
- Click on the link that was received through SMS or email
- Follow the reset process
- Create a new password by following the instruction on the screen
- Click ‘submit’

How to make changes to your National Student Financial Aid Scheme account:
- Please visit nsfas.org.za and log in.
- Please enter your username and password (under the ‘already registered’ option) to continue.
- Click the ‘sign in’ button.
- Please go to ‘My Personal Details’ and change the inaccurate cell phone number with the right one (the same can be done with other incorrect information)
How to re-register your myNSFAS account
To access your funding progress through your NSFAS login account, you are required to register or re-register a myNSFAS account.
- Navigate to www.nsfas.org.za login.
- Click myNSFAS tab.
- Click register.
- Tick the box to allow NSFAS to verify your details.
- Then capture the ID number as stated on your ID document.
- Type in your full names and surname as per your ID number.
- Type in your current email address.
- Confirm your email address.
- Type in your cellphone number.
- Create a password.
- Confirm password.
- Upload ID Copy.
- Click register.
- You will be sent an OTP to the email and cell number provided (this OTP expires after 24 hours).
- Type in the OTP and click Submit.
- You have now completed your NSFAS account re-registration.
