NSFAS-funded students will receive cash in their NSFAS Wallets if they are qualified for direct NSFAS allowances. Continue reading to find out how to check the balance of your NSFAS Wallet. NSFAS wallets allow NSFAS-funded students at certain schools and institutions to withdraw cash or spend it at any NSFAS-registered store.
The amount of the allowance is determined in collaboration with institutions and reported to NSFAS at the time of registration.
Follow these procedures to check my NSFAS Wallet balance:
To check your NSFAS Wallet cash balance (and transactions):
On your cellphone:
- Dial short code *134*176#
- Enter your password
- Click Send
- Select option 2. Query
- View cash balance and transactions
On the internet:
- Enter the following link into your browser https://celbux.appspot.com
- Log into your account by typing in your cellphone number and password and click the Login button
- Click More
- Click Transactions
- View transactions
Students must verify that the cellphone number they provided to NSFAS when applying for funding is still active. This is because that number will be used to deposit their funds. If your contact information has changed, you may update your phone number by login into myNSFAS and upgrading your phone number using your Facebook or Google account. You must have constant access to this number.
You’ll need the following to get NSFAS Allowances via your wallet:
- You must have your own phone and a valid SIM card.
- If you are a new student to NSFAS, you must sign the NSFAS Bursary Agreement.
- To pay your landlord or any other recognized merchant, you will not need to withdraw cash.
