NSFAS applications are officially open so apply now on myNSFAS so that you can be financed for the first step to a great future. Part of applying is that you have to submit documents to NSFAS so you might ask yourself, which documents then?

For your application for NSFAS funding through an NSFAS bursary to be complete, you will need to submit documents. Be sure to check whether you have submitted them all and correctly along with the correct details and you should be well on your way to benefitting from this NSFAS bursary.

Here are the documents you need to submit when submitting your NSFAS online application:

All applicants:

  • Copy of your ID
  • Must have consent from the parent(s), guardian or spouse to submit their personal information for validation and verification. Once you accept the applicable terms and conditions, you confirm that you have received consent from all relevant parties.

If the applicant is dependent on their parents/guardian/spouse, they must provide:

  • ID copies of parent(s), guardian or spouse
  • Proof of income (payslip/UIF letter/appointment letter/recruitment letter) of parent(s), guardian or spouse where applicable

If the applicant has a disability, they must provide:

  • A completed Disability Annexure A (if their information is not pre-populated on the online application form)

If you are a SASSA recipient then no proof of income is required.

To upload missing/outstanding documents for your 2021 application, follow these steps:

  • Sign in to your myNSFAS account
  • Upload the requested missing documents
  • Press submit

NSFAS says they are unable to process your application if it has missing/outstanding supporting documents.

How to fill the nsfas consent form

Filling the NSFAS consent form is not a difficult process.

  • Just enter the correct info where needed.
  • Ensure you go through or review the form, correcting any mistake you might make in the process.
  • Any false or inaccurate information or documentation submitted may render the application ineligible and you may be subject to legal action.
  • Ask questions if you don’t understand anything.

How to submit nsfas consent form

Once you have completed the form, go to the MyNSFAS portal and log in. You will see the option to upload your outstanding supporting documents. Once the documents have been uploaded click on the tab ‘Submit Documents‘.

The process is complete once all documents are uploaded and you receive a notification that says ‘Outstanding application documents submitted successfully uploaded‘.

If you did upload the documents but there was a problem the most common issue is that the documents are not clear. If you have a problem taking photos with your cellphone you can go to an NSFAS or an NYDA office and they will assist you.

If there is not an NSFAS or NYDA office near you, and you have applied to a college or varsity then ask their fees office to assist you.
