nsfas online application at unisa 2023-2024
The NSFAS allowances have long been a source of contention among Unisa students. Because Unisa is a distance university, the NSFAS bursary differs from what other university students receive. Unisa receives financing from NSFAS. Because Unisa’s program differs from those of other universities, students are offered different NSFAS allowances.
Only a Learning Materials Allowance and a Living Allowance are provided to NSFAS-funded Unisa students. The number of modules taken determines the Learning Material Allowance. Students at Unisa will earn R600 per module for the first four modules and R5200 for the remaining five to ten modules in a one-time payment.
What does the bursary cover?
The amounts mentioned for accommodation, living allowance, transportation, and learning materials must be in accordance with the most recent DHET criteria.
