Thekwini TVET College, as a public technical and vocational education and training organisation, strives to fulfil its skills development mandate through high quality teaching and learning and effective corporate governance. We are guided by our vision, mission and values which enable us to achieve our operational targets which are aligned to the strategic goals of DHET.
Thekwini TVET College submits its 5 year strategic plan to the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology for approval as per the requirements of Section 10(2)(a) of the Continuing Education and Training Act, No 16 of 2006 as amended. The development of the strategic plan was informed by the National Development Plan (NDP) and its implementation plan as well as the Post-School Education and Training (PSET) Plan and all other relevant legal prescripts.
The development of the strategic plan takes into cognisance the dawn of the 4th industrial revolution and the vision of the 6th democratically elected government to serve the people of South Africa.

- You need an active e-mail account as we will be communicating with you through emails.
- You must continuously check your email to ensure that you do not miss any communication.
- All documents to be submitted should be original certified copies and the certification should not be older than 6 months.
- Please make sure that you scan the documents in PDF format:
- Grade 12 certificate/Statement of results/Latest school report/DHET certificate
- ID document
- Proof of residence
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Learners who have completed a Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum of a Higher Certificate achievement can consider studying further at a TVET College for a National Diploma.
The Report 191 (Nated) N4 – N6 Programmes, also known as Alternative Post-school Programmes.
- Candidates must have a Grade 12 (NSC)
- New students must enrol for all 4 subjects in the particular field
- The number of enrolments in these programmes is subject to the approved DHET prescripts targets
- Students who may enrol for N4-N6 programmes must comply with the required number of working hours in the relevant field of the industry before a National Diploma will be issued (18 months / 2000 hours for semester programmes and 24 months / 2670 hours for trimester programmes)
