The Ekurhuleni East TVET College is one of the 50 TVET Colleges in South Africa, the College is situated in the eastern region of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. Ekurhuleni is a Tsonga word meaning ‘place of peace’ thus the College is named after this beautiful name. The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) covers an extensive area of about 1 975 Km2. The EMM comprises nine towns which Alberton, Benoni, Boksburg, Brakpan, Edenvale, Germiston, Kempton Park, Nigel and Springs. Included in these towns are 17 townships (EMM IDP) 2015-16) Geographically, Ekurhuleni is uniquely situated. It borders the eastern part of Johannesburg and the southern part of Tshwane. The Metro is spread over 15.6% of Gauteng’s land mass. It is the fourth largest municipality of all metropolitan areas that currently exist in South Africa. Ekurhuleni has three large towns: Kempton Park, Benoni and Springs.

Ekurhuleni East TVET College (EEC) is spread across five towns in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM). These are: Springs, Kwa-Thema, Daveyton, Benoni and Brakpan.

Here are the Ekurhuleni East TVET College General Admission/Application Requirements

  1. You’ll need an email address to complete the application.
  2. South African applicants will need an ID number.  Foreign applicants will need their passport numbers.
  3. Once you have received your student number from KSD College, you will need to pay the application fee.
  4. Make sure your documents are scanned according to the guidelines.
  5. Your admission to KSD College is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification.
  6. If you don’t meet these requirements, you may want to consider alternative qualifications or possibly, if you qualify, an extended programme, enabling you to register for limited modules in your first year.
  7. Students who completed Grade 12 at the ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) School of Tomorrow may no longer be accepted at KSD College.
  8. Some KSD College qualifications have limited spaces available. Meeting the general and / specific admission requirements for a qualification does not guarantee that you will be offered a space for the 2023 academic year.

Ekurhuleni East TVET College Admission Requirements.

Requirements for NC(V) Courses;

The students are permitted to study for a maximum of four years for NC (V) Levels 2, 3, and 4 taking into account possible subject failures.

  • Minimum entrance requirements are NQF1 i.e. Grade 9 and AET Level 4
  • Entry requirements have been guided and aligned to the NC (V) policy. A point system for entry into qualifications will be utilized.

Requirements for Report 191 Courses;

  • Minimum entrance requirements as aligned by the NATED Policy. Students who have passed to Grade 12/NC (V) Level 4 will be admitted to N4.
  • Students who have passed grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 who want to pursue an artisan career will be admitted to N1 based on a point system

Requirements for Occupational Courses;

  • Minimum entrance requirements as per registered Skills Programme/Learnership approved by QCTO/SETA
  • To be eligible to apply for an Occupational Programme a student who previously enrolled for NC(V) or Report 191 programmes will only be considered if such a student has fully completed the NC(V) or Report 191 programme (passed all subjects).

Additional Entry Requirements

  • The College Council has determined additional entry requirements by means of a point system for NC(V) level 2, Report 191 N1 and Report 191 N4 in an effort to improve the quality and performance of specialized programmes.

Step 1:  Get your application form at the College of Cape Town TVET College campus and submit it while there.

Step 2:  Complete your application form in full and return it to the campus. Ensure that you submit your form BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE and provide ALL requested supporting documentation.

The following documents are required and must be included in the post with your application form:

  • Proof of residence
  • Certified copy of guardian\parent ID
  • Latest Academic Results
  • Student certified ID
