Nursing is a vital aspect of the health care system because it promotes health, prevents illness, and provides care to physically ill, mentally ill, and disabled people of all ages in all health care and other community settings. Within this broad spectrum of health care, nurses are especially concerned about individual, family, and group “responses to current or expected health problems” (ANA, 1980, P.9). These human responses could range from health-restoring measures to policy initiatives targeted at enhancing the long-term health of a population. Nursing is taught at Tvet College.

Is it possible to pursue nursing without a matric?

It is quite tough to study nursing without a high school diploma. If you want to study at a university, you’ll need matric, but if you complete a health course at a TVET institution, you’ll be prepared to work as a nurse. This does, however, necessitate Grade 9.
