The National Certificate (Vocational) is a three-year qualification made up of three certificates obtained on NQF Levels 2, 3 and 4.

All National Certificate (Vocational) programmes consist of a fundamentals learning component and a vocational component and comprise 130 credits on each level.

Various career options exist for a holder of this qualification, such as joining the SAPS, the metro police, the traffic police, the military police, the SANDF, private security services and the National Intelligence Agency.

Other job opportunities also include careers in legal assistance, immigration and customs, correctional services, the criminal justice environment and matters related to the advocacy of the SA Constitution.

Entrance Requirements:

To qualify for this programme you need to:

  • Have passed Grade 9
  • Not be older than 25
  • Be a SA citizen
  • Have no criminal record
  • Be medically fit
  • Passed the psychometric tests

Download an application form from the website or visit a campus near you. Application forms can be submitted by email or completed at the campus where the programme is offered.

Please submit certified copies of the following documents with your application:

  • Birth certificate / Identity Document (proof of application for new ID/Passport)
  • Most recent academic results
  • ┬áCertificates / Qualifications

Depending on your choice of programme, you may be referred to the relevant campus head to continue with your registration process.

If applicable, an interview date will be communicated to you.
