Minimum Requirements

  • A recognized 3-year Degree/Diploma (Attach academic transcript) or Knowledge of Basic Computer Skills MS -Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database etc
  • Teacher’s qualification with majors in the particular field of study, In-depth knowledge of the subject.
  • Registration with the South African Council of Educators (SACE) will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication in English (written and verbal), organizing, planning and administration skills. Ability to monitor students’ performance and provide critical feedback in an objective and professional manner.

Duties and responsibilities:

Facilitate general academic and career development of students. Prepare lesson plans and lecturer students in compliance with the College Annual Academic Plan, the Campus timetable and the College Quality Management System. Assess students, maintain assessment records and capture marks electronically in compliance with the College’s policies and procedures. Create a conducive classroom environment and ensure efficient classroom management and discipline of students. Report to the Senior Lecturer and liaise with the Student Support Officers in providing support interventions to students. Distribute textbooks and student packs to students and maintain the necessary records. Manage and monitor student attendance, and organize job placement and excursions for students.

POST FACILITIES OFFICER REF NO WCTVETC 02/23

CONTRACT: Permanent

SALARY: R 257 508 per annum (SL 7) plus benefits as applicable in the Public Service

CENTRE: Vredenburg Campus

REQUIREMENTS:

Recognised three (3) year National Diploma in Facilities Management / Real Estate (NQF level 6) or equivalent qualification. Recognized National Diploma in Logistics, Facilities Management /Security Management (NQF level 6); 2-3 years’ experience in Logistics, Facilities Management/ Security Management environment or related field an added advantage; OHS certificate; Driver’s license; 2-3 years in Physical Facilities Management and Security management environment or related field.

DUTIES:

To provide effective and efficient facilities, security and fleet management services in the college; coordinate and manage all college physical resources (i.e. fleet, equipment, buildings etc.); proactively manage the supervision of residence supervisors and general assistants; ensure adherence to College policies and procedures; willing to work irregular hours; ensure discipline compliance of all residence students and residence staff; identify and resolve facility deficiencies; perform regular schedule building inspection; manage maintenance plans; ensure compliance with relevant health and safety standards; manage security.
