VUT, or Vaal University of Technology, is one of South Africa’s most distinguished residential institutions of technology, with approximately 22 000 students and 300 primarily English-taught programs.

Students must register first online and then apply for NSFAS funding. (Please make sure you complete the on-line application process). If you encounter any challenges, please approach the Financial Aid Officials for assistance.

How to Apply for vut nsfas online application

Here are the steps to follow to apply for the NSFAS

  1.  Visit the NSFAS website: www.nsfas.org.za online
  2. Then, you have to click on the “myNSFAS” tab
  3. After that, you create your myNSFAS account
  4. After creating myNSFAS account, you then have to click on the “Apply” tab
  5. Answer the following questions you see on your screen
  6. Update all your personal information
  7. Upload all the required supporting documents
  8. Lastly, Click on “Submit” to send your application for review.

 Supporting documents during the vut nsfas online application

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will require more information from you in order to process your application, so you need to provide the following supporting documents to make sure that your application is successful.

  1. Provide your own cellphone number and email address
  2. You must have a copy of your ID or birth certificate
  3. National ID copies of parents, guardian or spouse
  4. The evidence of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 if necessary
  5. The proof of income of your parents, guardian, or spouse.
  6. If you are a SASSA grant recipient, you don’t need to provide any evidence of income.
  7. All Applicants with a disability should provide and submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
  8. An applicant who is known as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.

Please make sure that you submit all the required documents (verify with the NSFAS checklist as a guideline – www.nsfas.org.za.Please submit the correct information, if you provide any incorrect information on the application you will be disqualified and you will forfeit the study loan.
