If you have forgotten your username, password and cellphone number, you can follow these simple steps to reset your myNSFAS login details. It happens to the best of us but no worries, it can easily be solved.
Have you forgotten your old username, password or cellphone number and are stuck when trying to log in to your myNSFAS account?
This happens all the time so you don’t need to worry. It can be sorted out by following these steps:
- Go to www.nsfas.org.za
- Click on myNSFAS
- Select ‘forgot password’
- Type in your ID number and choose what you need help with: password or username or both
- Click ‘submit’
- The username and the link to change your password will be sent via SMS and email
- Open the link so that you can be taken to the reset password page
- Reset your password by following the prompts on your screen
NSFAS has also urged beneficiaries to protect themselves from fraud by making sure that you log out of your myNSFAS account when you are not using it.
NSFAS offices will be closed for the duration of the lockdown. This closure will now impact operations at NSFAS and the Contact Centre number will be suspended for the duration of the lockdown. So if you’re having problems and you need help, you can use NSFAS Connect.
NSFAS Connect allows you to search frequently asked questions and their answers and search and submit queries and complaints. Dedicated NSFAS agents will respond to your inquiries on NSFAS Connect and you will be notified when there is a response on your inquiry or complaint via Email.
How To Unlock Your NSFAS Wallet By Cell Phone
- Dial *120*176#
- Choose the option which reads ‘Unlock with OTP’
- You will now be sent a One Time PIn (OTP) through SMS
- Type in the OTP given
- Click enter
- You will then receive another notification which will tell you that your account is unlocked
- You should now be able to get into your NSFAS wallet account again
NSFAS-Funded students who qualify to receive allowances directly from NSFAS will receive cash funds in their NSFAS Wallets. Your NSFAS Wallet will allow you to withdraw cash or spend at any merchant registered by NSFAS.
For any other NSFAS Wallet questions, you can send an email to walletquery@nsfas.org.za and be sure to provide the following information in your email:
- Your ID number
- Your full names and surname
- Your cellphone number and email address
- Your physical and/or postal address
- Full description of your query
NSFAS is the National Student Financial Aid Scheme which is a government loan and bursary fund for students. NSFAS bursary applications and registrations are open in the latter part of the year for students who want to study in the next calendar year.
How to track your application status:
- Login on the myNSFAS portal here
- Enter your username and password and sign in
- Click on Track Funding Progress
